Group Work and Academic Honesty

Group work is allowed and encouraged for all homework and exercises. The final project should be completed collaboratively. The midterms must be completed individually. They are open book and open note. Seating may be assigned during these assessments.

The use of Generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT) is permitted. Results from generative AI should be edited to ensure that you stand by the words. They must be carefully checked for “hallucinations” - fictional information including fabricated citations. Fabricated citations will lead to a failing grade for the assignment.

Students are expected to adhere to the IIT Code of Academic Honesty.

Cheating on the midterms or plagiarism in the final report will lead to reduction of one letter grade in the course. All violations of academic integrity will be reported to the Dean of Academic Discipline (DDAD).

Disabilities

Reasonable accommodations will be made for students with documented disabilities. In order to receive accommodations, students must obtain a letter of accommodation from the Center for Disability Resources. The Center for Disability Resources (CDR) is located in 3424 S. State St., room 1C3-2 (on the first floor), telephone (312) 567-5744 or disabilities@iit.edu.
